What a treat! Gorgeous sunrises, native birds, wallabies and kangaroos aplenty, all strolling or flying insouciantly through the eucalypts and extraordinary yakkas. Our accommodation was first class. Great beds, timber floors, sweeping picture windows, an elegant bathroom and lastly and importantly the cosy warmth of the double glazing and wood heating.

The property is centrally located so all the great places to be experienced on Kangaroo Island are easily accessed. A special non tourist treat for us was an evening at the pub at Parndana. Mixing with the locals and enjoying the best priced pub meals in the country! Our hosts Rob and Yael were more than generous sharing their love and enthusiasm for the island. They warmly received us and nothing was too difficult for them. My wife and I can not recommend Ecopia Retreat highly enough.

I stay a lot in hotels, I’m almost living in hotels, and I was quite skeptical when I book this villa. I shouldn’t have been! It was the very best stay I ever had! The villa is super new, extremely clean, and very modern. The layout is fantastic, the kitchen is well equipped, and you can even do your laundry while there!

The bathroom is a Zen master’s dream come true: simple but absolutely beautiful. The location is otherworldly: the sunrise and sunset is breathtaking, and you get company too during those times of the day: kangaroos, wallabies, and other locals who are just a few yards away from your porch! I can’t recommend enough this villa: it’s something I wish I could live in!

What terrific luck to find this perfect bush hideaway. My husband and I were looking for peace, beauty and an environmentally inspired Kangaroo Island experience and our three days here gave us far more than we ever hoped for.

Rob and Yael were thoughtful, responsive and discreet. Nothing was too much trouble, from the helpful tips to best appreciate the island, to the cut wood and set fire and the perfectly furnished villa. We loved waking up to the sounds of the bush and seeing the sun rise and set through the large picture frame windows. We will definitely be factoring a return trip to this idyllic bush villa.

Robert and Yael have constructed an amazing luxury, sustainable home that blends perfectly with the surroundings.

Expect to see kangaroos everyday and you might get lucky and see some echidnas or koalas. There is a fireplace for the colder nights and an amazing bath that looks out to the stars. We stayed 3 nights and wish we had stayed many more. Highly recommended.

Couldn’t get enough of the large windows that bathed the villa in light and provided an excellent view to the nature and wildlife right outside our door.

The freestanding bath and impeccable interior design felt incredibly luxurious. Would especially recommend to singles/couples looking for a quiet and relaxing time away from the bustle of everyday life.

We stayed in Villa May which is beautifully appointed throughout. It is in the middle of nowhere with wildlife's natural landscape on your doorstep, we saw kangaroos and echidnas. Couldn't fault anything. We ordered food to be there when we arrived (breakfast and evening meal) which took the worry out of organising meals. The food was all locally sourced and fresh with famous Kangaroo Island wines. We wished we could have stayed longer.

We stayed at Villa Ada for 4 nights and absolutely loved it!!! The Villa was fully equipped with everything you could need and the interior was modern and stylish. The Australian wildlife was right at our feet and we saw so many animals in their natural habitat, both by the Villa and on the Island. Robert and Yael were the perfect hosts; very kind, helpful and with great tips and knowledge. We will definitely recommend staying at Ecopia to everyone looking for a luxurious yet authentic stay while visiting KI.

It was our first time visiting KI and we loved it. The accommodation was of a very high standard. Perfect place to unwind & escape the daily grind. I cannot speak highly enough of my experience at Ecopia. My partner and I stayed in Villa Ada for 3 nights and were blown away with the entire experience. The wildlife made for a highly unique proudly Australian experience and our host Yael was only a call or email away if we had any queries. Ecopia is a very luxurious experience and perfect for a romantic getaway – in our case a perfect setting to get engaged! I will recommend to anyone planning to visit Kangaroo Island and would love to return someday.

Byo food and make the most of the self contained kitchen so you can enjoy the place more. It has a fire to keep the the place warm. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. You could happily sit and read a book all day enjoying the view. Thanks!

We stayed at Ecopia Retreat for two nights. It was a tranquil accommodation to come back to each day from our tours of Kangaroo Island.  Modern and beautifully styled with a strong environmental focus, Ecopia Retreat had every home comfort we could have wished for. An added bonus was the sight of kangaroos grazing outside our window each morning – we loved it!
